Local SEO in Bangladesh starts from $299 for a single-location Google Business Profile package, with larger scopes quoted after an audit. The price depends on four things: how competitive your category and area are, how many locations or service areas you cover, the state of your profile and website, and how much you want done for you.
Pricing in the market runs from cheap one-off profile setups to monthly retainers for multi-branch businesses. The range is wide because the work varies so much. This guide explains what you are actually paying for, what pushes the price up or down, and how to judge whether a quote is fair. It is part 7 of the Local SEO in Bangladesh series and focuses on Local SEO specifically; for website SEO pricing in general, see How Much Does SEO Cost in Bangladesh?
The honest answer first
There is no single price for Local SEO, and anyone quoting a firm figure before looking at your profile, website and competitors is quoting a package, not a plan. What can be said honestly is what the work involves and what makes it bigger or smaller.
For reference, Local SEO packages here start from $299, and the final figure depends on the factors below. If you are still deciding between paying for SEO and paying for clicks, read part 6, Local SEO vs Google Ads, first.
What you are paying for
Local SEO is a set of jobs. A proper engagement includes most of these, and understanding them makes quotes much easier to compare:
- Audit: reviewing your Business Profile, website, citations, reviews and competitors, with a baseline geo-grid scan
- Profile optimisation: categories, services, description, attributes, hours, photos and posts
- Location clean-up: pin placement, duplicate listings and a consistent address format
- Citations: correcting and building consistent listings on the directories that matter
- Website work: service pages, location signals, LocalBusiness schema and mobile speed
- Reviews: a system for asking consistently, and replying
- Tracking and reporting: calls, direction requests and website clicks from GBP Performance, plus geo-grid visibility, explained plainly
The four things that change the price
- Competition: a dentist in Gulshan or Dhanmondi faces far more competition than one in a district town
- Coverage: one location and a small area costs less than several branches or a city-wide service area
- Starting condition: a suspended profile, duplicates or a broken website mean more work up front
- Scope: advice and a plan you implement yourself costs less than done-for-you implementation
One-off setup versus ongoing work
Some businesses need a one-time fix: a profile that was never properly set up, a wrong category, duplicate listings, an inconsistent address. That work has a clear end. Others are in competitive categories where rankings depend on a steady flow of reviews, content and local mentions, which needs ongoing effort.
A sensible approach is to start with an audit and the foundation fixes, then decide whether ongoing work is justified by the competition you face. Not every business needs a monthly retainer.
DIY: the real cost is time
Much of the foundational work can be done by an owner willing to learn: completing the profile, fixing details, uploading photos and asking for reviews. The Google Business Profile optimization checklist is a good starting point.
The cost is your time and the risk of mistakes, such as editing the business name in a way that triggers a suspension, or creating a duplicate while trying to fix verification. Where DIY usually stalls is diagnosis: working out why a well-completed profile still does not rank, and what to do about the competitors above you.
Freelancer, specialist or agency
In Bangladesh you can hire general freelancers, specialists who focus on Local SEO, or full-service agencies. Price is not the only difference. A specialist sees the same local ranking problems repeatedly; an agency may offer more services, spread across more clients and a larger team. The trade-offs are covered in SEO Specialist vs Agency in Bangladesh.
Why cheap packages cost more
At the bottom of the market, packages promise hundreds of citations, a set number of backlinks and guaranteed rankings for a price that cannot cover real work. What they usually deliver is automated directory submissions, generic content and a report of rankings for terms nobody searches. Worse, some tactics, such as keyword-stuffed business names, fake reviews or listings at virtual addresses, put the profile at risk of suspension.
A cheap package that produces nothing is expensive. A package that gets your profile suspended is very expensive.
Judge value one customer at a time
The most useful way to think about Local SEO cost is against the value of a single new customer. Work out what one new patient, client or booking is worth to you over a year. Then ask how many extra customers a month would cover the fee. For many businesses the answer is only a handful, which is what makes Local SEO good value when it is done properly.
For an example of the kind of change that is possible, the GBP calls growth case study shows calls from a Business Profile before and after optimisation. Results vary with category and area, so treat it as an illustration rather than a forecast.
Questions to ask before you pay
- What exactly happens in the first month?
- Which numbers will you report, and how can I see them myself?
- Who will own the Google Business Profile and any accounts you create?
- What happens if I stop after three months?
- Do you guarantee rankings? The right answer is no. Google states there is no way to pay for or request a better local ranking.
What the starting package covers
For transparency: the entry Google Business Profile package starts from $299 for a single location and covers the profile itself: a full audit, categories, services and products, description, attributes and hours, and photos and posts.
Keyword and geo mapping, citation clean-up, review strategy, geo-grid tracking, monthly reporting and multiple locations are scoped separately, after the profile and competition have been looked at. Details are on the GBP optimization page, and the wider scope is on the Local SEO service page.
Local SEO in Bangladesh costs what the work in front of you requires, and that depends on competition, coverage, your starting point and how much you want done for you. Judge any quote by the specific work it describes and the value of the customers it could bring, never by price alone. The final part of this series covers how long Local SEO takes to work. For a specific figure, book a strategy call.
